Feeling Betrayed By Your Partner? (3 min. read)

Woman feeling betrayed in car. We offer counseling for this.

If you’ve felt hurt, betrayed, or angry with your partner because of something you’ve discovered about their sexual history or present actions, you’ve come to the right place. Whether they are struggling with pornography use, infidelity, both, or that and then some, I recognize that you may be searching for answers. Your world feels shattered and confusing. Your mind is racing with questions and thoughts. Your heart feels unsettled. You are wondering where to turn, who to talk to, and what to do.

Betrayal is something that feels BIG. It feels mindset altering, truth shifting, and unsteadying to the soul. If you need a place to go when you don’t know where to go, my office can be that place. If you need a safe person to talk to when you don’t even know what to say, I can be that person to sit with you while you figure it out. If you need a plan, next steps, or aren’t sure what to do, our sessions can be the time when you begin to process, heal, and decide what’s next.

Other places or people you turn to may want to help without truly knowing how. Even someone with the best of intentions can accidentally push shame, blame, or pressure on you with the goal of helping simply because they don’t know how to help or what to say. This isn’t to say to not reach out to people, but it is to say that if you’ve been met with shame, blame, or pressure, you don’t have to accept those things. You can advocate for your own healing.

I have been trained through The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists on a model that focuses on YOU, the partner, and the fact that what you’ve experienced has had a profound impact on you. My goal for our time together is to help you find safety (emotionally, physically, spiritually), reflect on what has happened, and find ways of reconnecting (to yourself, to your partner, and/or to your family).

So if you’ve been trying to figure out where to turn, who to talk to, or what to do, consider this your starting point. This can be your fresh start, your new beginning towards healing. It would be a great privilege of mine to listen to you, process with you, comfort you, and plan alongside you. Now’s the time to take that step - schedule a free 15 minute consultation or an intake session, or send me an email (holly@thepeacewell.com). Let’s get started on your healing, YOU are worth it.
