Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in a counseling session?
Your therapist will listen to you, support you, and help you take steps towards meeting your goals. Counseling sometimes involves processing things about life that are causing pain, depression, anxiety, or a feeling of being stuck. But it can also be very practical, focusing on your strengths and how to overcome obstacles.
What is the cost and length of a session?
Typical sessions are between 45 and 55 minutes long and the fee is between $135 and $150, depending on the therapist. Intake sessions are typically 75 minutes with a fee between $160 and $190, depending on the therapist.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes! But it’s different with each therapist. All of our therapists accept Custom Design Benefits, HSA’s, and out-of-network benefits. Nick, JayB, and Courtney are also in-network with several insurances, which you can view here. You can also pay with cash, check, or card. Sometimes insurance providers will reimburse up to 70% of your bill, even out of network. We can provide the details necessary for those claims.
Do you treat things other than anxiety?
Yes. While anxiety is a specialty of ours, we take clients working through all sorts of mental and emotional issues, including depression, trauma, relational issues, stress, and more. Check out our Team page to see what each therapist specializes in.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no commitment up front to any number of sessions, mostly because every client is unique and will have a different journey. Some clients find that just 4-6 sessions is helpful to overcome a certain difficulty in their life, and others might come for 10-12. Still, there are clients who come for many months, even years, depending on what they are working through. The most important thing is that this is a collaborative choice, and there is no pressure to do more or less.
Can I do Telehealth from anywhere?
We are licensed in the state of Ohio. That being said, clients must physically be in Ohio for every session, even video calls (though there is some cool legislation being implemented soon called the Counseling Compact which will make out-of-state counseling way easier). If you are in Cincinnati, you can stop by for an in-person session.
